Arsenal have had a £13million bid rejected for Braga starlet Pedro Neto, according to A Bola.

The Portuguese media outlet revealed that Arsene Wenger had tabled a bid worth £13 million for the 17-year-old winger but Braga boss Antonio Salvador rejected the offer.

A Bola report that the teenager also has a release clause close to £18million.

It is said that Arsenal’s biggest rivals in the race to secure the Portuguese ace are Barcelona, as the La Liga giants have been in pursuit of Neto for many years, and the Spanish club look likely to offer more than the Gunners.

The Portugal Under-18 star is wanted by some of the top clubs after he managed to break into the first team during the club’s 2016/17 campaign.

Neto made just two Primiera Liga appearances for the club last season, but managed to score once against CD Nacional in the club’s 4-0 victory over the Madeira side.

He is also thought to be close to making an international debut as his club believe he is good enough after he previously featured for both the Portugal Under-17 and 18 squads.

Arsene Wenger would hope to take on the teenager and develop the winger’s skills in north London as the Frenchman is well-known for helping young players through the ranks.
