Leicester winger Demarai Gray shone for England Under-21s in their penalty shoot-out defeat to Germany on Tuesday night – and Tottenham supporters took to Twitter to urge their club to sign him up.
The Mirror claimed earlier this month that Spurs are keeping close tabs on the 20-year-old, who is admired by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
However, it is said that Gray’s £22million release clause is deterring the Londoners from pushing for a deal.
He started and scored for Aidy Bothroyd’s age-group side as they drew 2-2 against Germany in the European Championships semi-final but lost out 4-3 on penalties.
Spurs fans watching the match were blown away by Gray’s performance and urged Pochettino and White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy to push through a deal this summer.

Considering we spent £30million on Moussa Sissoko, Demarai Gray who is apparently valued at £22million looks an absolute snip. #COYS#THFC pic.twitter.com/Hkqerjs8dF

Gray moved to the King Power Stadium from Birmingham in January 2016 and picked up a Premier League winners medal during his first few months.
The wide man scored two goals and supplied five assists from 41 appearances in all competitions last season but spent much of his time on the substitute’s bench, with Marc Alrbrighton and Riyad Mahrez usually the preferred options in the wide areas.
