Tottenham ace Josh Onomah has expressed his delight on Twitter after helping England win the under-20s World Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The 20-year-old started the 1-0 win against Venezuela, producing an impressive display, with Everton forward Dominic Calvin-Lewin scoring the only goal of the match.

The Barnsley academy product scored in the first half while Onomah could have got on the scoresheet himself with his long range effort hitting the crossbar.

Added to that, Onomah’s club teammate, Kyle Walker-Peters conceded a penalty after the break but Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman saved his blushes by stopping the spot kick.

Nonetheless, after the match, Onomah posted this message on his personal Twitter account as England won their biggest international tournament since 1966.

Versatile attacker Onomah started three encounters for Mauricio Pochettino during the recently concluded season, one FA Cup match and the other EFL Cup games.

He scored during a 5-0 win against League One outfit Gillingham in September and played the full match during the next round as Liverpool knocked the London club out of the competition.

In the Premier League, he only played 17 minutes of football under Pochettino as the highly-rated youngster will be looking to earn more game time next term.

Onomah has represented England at all age groups from the under-16s to playing one match for the under-21s in October 2016 when he scored and assisted against Bosnia.
