Former Chelsea ace Jason Cundy believes Tottenham star Harry Kane is twice the player Romelu Lukaku is.

The outspoken pundit also claimed he would rather have Kane in his side than Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cundy’s 12 year career saw him ply his trade at both Chelsea and Tottenham, among other clubs, and he was capped by the England Under-21s three times as well.

In an interview on talkSPORT’s Andy Goldstein Sports Bar daily podcast (Saturday 10pm), Cundy was keen to heap praise on Kane.

“If you are giving me the option to buy either one of those players, I’d take Kane every single day of the week over Lukaku,” Cundy said.

“I would rather Harry Kane over Cristiano Ronaldo too.

“Harry Kane is twice the player Lukaku is – based on my eyes, based on my knowledge, based on what I see.

“He’s twice the player, Kane is twice the player. Harry Kane is a better player, he can hold the ball up with his back to goal and Lukaku can’t. However you dress it up, the better player is Harry Kane.”

Kane finished as the Premier League’s top scorer last term, as he bagged 29 goals in 30 league outings.

Meanwhile, Lukaku, netted an impressive 25 goals in 37 league games to finish second in the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot.

Both players are two of the top young strikers in the world and they have each been prolific over the past four seasons.

Kane broke into the Spurs first team at the start of the 2013-14 season, and since then he has made 165 appearances in all competitions, which have yielded 99 goals.

Lukaku signed for the Toffees from Chelsea on loan in the summer of 2013, before making the move permanent a year later, and he has since scored 87 goals in 166 league and cup games.
