Newcastle are in the running to sign Manchester City player Fabian Delph, according to the latest betting odds.

Leading bookmaker Sky Bet have priced the 27-year-old at 5/1 to make a switch to the newly promoted Premier League side this summer.

Delph’s odds in joining the Magpies have shortened in recent weeks because they were previously priced at the end of last month at 8/1 to land his signature.

At this moment in time, Tony Pulis’ West Brom are leading the chase for Delph, with the Midlands club priced at 2/1 followed by Leicester City (4/1).

Former Leeds academy product Delph has struggled to cement a regular place in the City team following his £9million transfer from Aston Villa during the summer of 2015.

Poor form and injuries have played a big part in that. He played only seven Premier League encounters during the previous campaign.

The Magpies recently earned promotion to the top tier of English football when they won the Championship title on the last day of the season.

Rafa Benitez will be looking to survive relegation and mount some sort of challenge next term, so there is no doubt that he will be looking to strengthen his squad this summer.

England international Delph has three-years left on his current deal at the Etihad Stadium and it remains to be seen whether City will be looking to offload their player.
