Tottenham’s attacking midfield ace Christian Eriksen has told that he can see himself playing at the highest level, but doesn’t know whether it will be with Spurs or a club from elsewhere.

The 25-year-old is among a number of current Tottenham stars to have been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane and in April the Mirror reported that La Liga giants Barcelona were interested in his signature.

The 66-time capped Denmark international would have attracted the Catalan club with his fine displays for Mauricio Pochettino’s side as he helped Tottenham to a second placed finish.

Now, Eriksen has told not many players would say no to Barcelona, while he also refused to rule out a move away from north London, stating that he can see himself playing at the highest level with or without Spurs.

“I’ve been there [on trial as a teenager] at one point, and it didn’t work out too well,” told Eriksen, as quoted by ESPN.

“But Barcelona is a fantastic club — I don’t think there a lot of players who would say no to Barcelona.

“But there is ‘interest’ and then there is concrete interest. Until there is some concrete interest, I don’t have an opinion about it.

“In the future I see myself at the highest level. That’s what I dream about. That could be in two to three years.

“It could be at a different club or it could be at Tottenham, if we have got all the way to that level.”

Eriksen joined Tottenham from Dutch club Ajax in the summer of 2013 in an £11million deal.

He has since played 179 times for the side in total, returning 42 goals and 56 assists during his four years in the side.

He is also still contracted to Tottenham until 2020 and fans of the north London club will be hoping that he remains in the team beyond his current deal.

Meanwhile, Spurs will be competing at the top level in the Champions League for the second consecutive season and Eriksen will be looking to help the club push further than last season’s group stage knockout.
