Arsenal and Tottenham are among a host of top European clubs on the trail of IFK Gothenburg’s 18-year-old goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg, according to Fotbolldirekt.

The Swedish football news website claim that the North London rivals are joined by the likes of PSG, Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen in keeping tabs of the young shot stopper, who is currently on international duty with the Swedish U21 side at the European Championships in Poland.

The 6’3″ goalkeeper has established himself as Gothenburg’s number one choice between the sticks following the departure of John Alvbage, beating off competition from 28-year-old stopper Erik Dahlin.

So far this season, which runs from April to November in Sweden, Dahlberg has made 11 appearances in the league, conceding 12 goals and keeping three clean sheets.

Fotbolldirekt also claim that as a result of his fine form and his potential ability, Gothenburg have valued the youngster at approximately £2.3million (25million Swedish Krona).

Dahlberg is contracted at the club until the end of 2020, but the Swedish website claim that they may look to offload the one-time-capped U21 international to ease their financial situation.

Arsenal currently have Petr Cech, David Ospina and Emiliano Martinez as options between the sticks, although Ospina has been rumoured with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

Tottenham meanwhile are likely to be looking for an understudy to Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm, after Mauricio Pochettino chose not to activate a clause to turn Pau Lopez’s loan deal into a permanent move.
