Reliable journalist reveals details of Everton reported move for Pickford

The details of Jordan Pickford’s reported transfer from Sunderland to Everton have been revealed by a reliable journalist.

Times sport correspondent Paul Joyce posted a message on his personal Twitter account claiming that £22million of the reported £30million fee for Pickford would be paid up front, while the remaining £8million would be made up of add ons.

This comes after Sky Sports News reported via its own official Twitter account that an agreement had been reached between Sunderland and Everton for the £30million transfer of the 23-year-old goalkeeper.

The Sky Sports claim came following the Telegraph report that Everton were close to sealing a deal for Pickford.

The 23-year-old shot stopper was a key performer for Sunderland last term, making 32 appearances in all competitions, keeping five clean sheets, but even his best efforts were not enough to stop his side being relegated to the Championship.

The Washington-born goalkeeper joined Sunderland’s academy at the age of eight and he has been at the club ever since.

However, several loan spells away from the Stadium of Light have meant his impact in the north east has been limited, and prior to last season he had played just three games for the club.

Pickford has been capped by the England Under-21s on 10 occasions, but he is yet to feature for the senior national team.
