Deal all but done: Everton agree £30m fee for Pickford

Everton have agreed a £30million fee with Sunderland for the transfer of Jordan Pickford, according to Sky Sports News.

The broadcaster made the claim on its official Twitter account on Tuesday.

This comes after a report in the Telegraph claimed the Toffees were close to sealing a £30million deal for the 23-year-old goalkeeper.

It was said talks between Everton and Sunderland over the transfer of Pickford had progressed in the last 24 hours, and that the Merseysiders were confident of a deal being struck.

The report states the Black Cats had already rejected one bid from the Toffees, but the £30million fee is one they cannot afford to turn down.

Pickford was a mainstay between the sticks for Sunderland last term, making 32 appearances in all competitions.

However, his impressive form was not enough to stop his side being relegated from the Premier League.

The 23-year-old has been at the Black Cats since he was a boy, but numerous loan spells away from the club have meant his impact has been limited, and prior to last season he had played just three games for the club.

Pickford has been capped by the England Under-21s on 10 occasions, but he is yet to feature for the senior national team.
