Newcastle have been quoted a price tag of £10million for Leicester City’s 23-year-old winger Tom Lawrence, according to the Burton Mail.

The newspaper claim on their website that the Foxes have placed the eight figure valuation on the six-time-capped Wales international, who spent last season on loan at Newcastle’s Championship rivals Ipswich Town.

A former Manchester United youngster, the 23-year-old made 34 league appearances for the Tractor Boys, scoring an impressive nine goals and notching 11 assists in England’s second tier.

However, he has made just four senior appearances for his parent club, three of which came in the Premier League during the 2014/15 season.

A versatile forward who can play up front or in any of the attacking midfield positions, Lawrence was one of three players named as wingers Newcastle have shortlisted for a move this summer by the Chronicle.

Also named was Lawrence’s Leicester team mate Demarai Gray, although the newspaper claim the Foxes would demand £20million, double their valuation of Lawrence, a fee which would see Newcastle break their current transfer record.

Lawrence’s international debut came when he was used as a substitute against Andorra in a 2-0 win for Wales in October 2015, while his latest appearance was a four minute cameo during his country’s 1-1 with Serbia on June 11.
