Newcastle are in the running to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, according to the latest betting odds.

Leading bookmaker Sky Bet have priced the 23-year-old at 7/2 to make a switch from Stamford Bridge to St James’ Park before September 3.

Ligue 1 champions Monaco are favourites to land Batshuayi’s signature at 9/4, with Premier League duo Everton (5/1) and West Ham (7/1) also in the running.

Belgium international Batshuayi recently won the Premier League title with Antonio Conte’s team, who recorded 30 wins from their 38 encounters this term.

Batshuayi scored the winning goal that sealed the title for the London club when he came off the bench to score a late winner at West Brom in May.

The highly-rated youngster moved to Chelsea last summer when they paid French outfit Marseille £33million for his services.

However, he struggled to cement a regular place in the Chelsea side following his big-money move, with Diego Costa leading the line under Conte for the majority of the campaign.

Over the course of the season, Batshuayi played 28 matches in all competitions for the English champions, scoring nine goals and starting only seven of those matches.

If he were to make a switch to Newcastle this summer then he would join a team that recently earned promotion to the Premier League under the stewardship of Rafa Benitez.

The north-east giants have already signed one Chelsea attacker this summer in winger Christian Atsu and have been heavily linked with another in 19-year-old striker Tammy Abraham.
