Zlatan Ibrahimovic will join MLS giants LA Galaxy from Manchester United at the end of the month, according to a Marca report.

The Spanish newspaper claims the 35-year-old striker, who is currently recovering from ligament damage, will move to Los Angeles in a bid to be fit for the start of the next MLS season in March 2o18.

It is said Ibrahimovic agreed a move to Galaxy as far back as March 2017, which was subject to him being released by United.

The Swedish international’s release was confirmed on Friday after the Red Devils revealed their list of retained players on the official Premier League website, and his name did not feature.

The 35-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Manchester giants last summer and had the option to add a second season.

The 2016/17 campaign was a good one for the Swede, and he was one of United’s top performers, scoring 27 goals in 45 league and cup games, as well as providing 10 assists.

Ibrahimovic scored five goals in 11 Europa League games last term, as the Red Devils eventually won the competition, despite his absence in the final.

The 35-year-old boasts a glittering footballing CV, and he has played for the likes of PSG, AC Milan, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Juventus.

He has also been capped by Sweden 116 times, and he has scored 62 goals, but he has not featured since his nation’s disappointing 2016 European Championships campaign.
