Victor Lindelof has agreed to join Manchester United, it was confirmed on Saturday night.

The Premier League giants announced on their official website that the centre-back, 22, has settled terms to transfer from Benfica.

United claim that they have reached an agreement with the Portugese club for the signing of the defender subject to a medical, international clearance and personal terms.

The Sun claim that United will pay £35million for Lindelof and that the deal will be officially completed in the middle of next week after he has represented Sweden in an international friendly against Norway.

The Premier League outfit did not divulge any financial details, but it is reported that the player will sign a five-year contract.

Lindelof was one of Benfica’s outstanding players in the recently completed domestic season, making 47 appearances in all competitions and contributing to 26 clean sheets.

The 12-times Sweden international was snapped up by the Portuguese giants from Swedish club Vasteras SK in the summer of 2012.

Lindelof then broke into the first team in July 2015, and has been a first choice centre-back for the club ever since, making 73 appearances in all competitions.

His most recent appearance came for Sweden on Friday night in a 2-1 World Cup qualifying win over France.
