Manchester City fans appeared outraged on Twitter after Nicholas Otamendi left his Premier League team mate Gabriel Jesus potentially injured during an international friendly last night.
The Argentinian defender collided with his City team mate during a friendly match against Brazil on Thursday evening, which led to the 20-year-old being stretchered off.
The game was played in Melbourne, Australia, and ended with Argentina winning 1-0 against their south American rivals.
While many fans sided with the defender, commenting that he was simply performing his duties for his country, a few others were disappointed by the run-inĀ and joked to “send him to jail”.

While the extent of the young forward’s injury remains unknown, City fans will understandably be concerned after the Brazilian already missed a chunk of the previous season due to injury.
Jesus suffered a metatarsal fracture just one month after moving to the club in February which saw him sidelined for 66 days and led him to miss 13 games for his club.
The young starlet was signed by Pep Guardiola after he displayed potential at Palmeiros, and although he only managed to make 11 appearances for the Manchester giants, the striker still scored seven goals and provided five assists.
