Chelsea and Manchester make offers for Aubameyang

Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City have placed offers for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish newspaper claims that the Bundesliga outfit have received huge offers from Premier League teams who are interested in signing the 28-year-old this summer, including champions Chelsea and Pep Guadiola’s City side.

The report claims that Antonio Conte believes that the Gabon international is the perfect player to replace current talisman Diego Costa who is reportedly set to leave Stamford Bridge after being informed that he is no longer required at the club.

It is understood that a number of top European sides are also keen on securing the striker’s signature this summer with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich keeping tabs on Aubameyang’s situation.

This follows up from the story in the Le Parisien which reported that Premier League side Liverpool are prepared to pay over £61million for the striker in this transfer window.

Aubameyang has been one of the most consistent performers in the Bundesliga since moving to Dortmund four years ago.

The forward produced some quality displays last season, scoring 40 goals and providing five assists from 46 matches in all competitions.

The Gabon international scored the winning goal in the German Cup final to secure his first major trophy at the club as Dortmund beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1.

Aubameyang’s current contract at Dortmund runs out in 2020.
