Three reasons why Leeds should sign Armstrong

Newcastle have made speed machine Adam Armstrong available for loan once again and Thomas Christiansen must act quickly to bring him to Leeds.

The Evening Chronicle claims the England Under-20 international is to continue his education of professional football in the lower leagues following Newcastle’s promotion to the Premier League.

Armstrong, 20, went on loan to Leeds’ Yorkshire rivals Barnsley last season and had a hand in 10 goals during his 35 league and cup appearances – only 22 of which he started.

Scoring six times in the Championship, the pocket-sized attacker also laid on four assists but it appears he is yet to do enough to prove to Rafa Benitez that he has what it takes to make it in the Toon’s first team.

This Is FutbolĀ analyses three reasons why Leeds should take advantage of the situation and bring Armstrong to Elland Road as their third summer signing, in a bid to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.
