Thomas Christiansen would push Leeds towards Premier League promotion if he made the bold move to sell top scorer Chris Wood this summer.

The Daily Star claimed last month that the the Yorkshire giants would command a fee of £15million to allow the New Zealand international to leave, with Stoke, West Ham and Southampton all said to be interested.

Leeds’ number nine has caught the attention of top-flight clubs after firing the Whites to within an inch of the Championship play-offs this season, finishing seventh as they ran out of steam towards the final standings.

Former Leicester striker Wood topped the Championship goalscoring charts with 27 strikes in England’s second division, scoring 30 in total during his 48 encounters in all competitions.
