Newcastle should make a late move for Leeds United’s contract rebel Charlie Taylor after it was reported that West Brom have cooled their interest in the defender.

The Express and Star claim that the Premier League club have shelved plans to sign the left-back after holding extensive talks over recruiting him when his contract with Championship outfit Leeds expires at the end of the month.

The regional newspaper report that manager Tony Pulis wants to use the transfer funds available to him this summer to beef up his strike force and the centre of the Baggies defence.
