West Ham will want to put the disappointing 2016/17 campaign behind them when the first ball is kicked for the new Premier League season in August.
This is Futbol analyses which three players will be key for Slaven Bilic as he aims to have a successful season.
Manuel Lanzini – The 24-year-old is arguably one of the most underrated players in the Premier League. Towards the back end of the season, his form picked up and he proved what he is capable of producing. If the Argentine can get going in the final third then the West Ham supporters will enjoy a lot of success in front of goal.
Winston Reid – There were a number of occasions during the recently concluded campaign where the Hammers shipped in a lot of goals but centre-back Reid still stood out with his performances. Bilic needs a solid performer at the back and someone like Reid can provide him with that. He has great ability in the air and can read the game well. If he can build a solid partnership with one of his teammates then Bilic will be able to sort out his defensive woes.
Mark Noble – There were times last season when the Irons lacked fight or any heart. Midfielder Noble has come through the ranks and understands how the fans feel. The club needs his fighting ability, his leadership and spirit in the middle of the park so they can evoke memories of the 2015/16 season.
