Juventus are interested in signing Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian during the summer transfer window, according to the Sun.
The newspaper claims that the Serie A champions see the 27-year-old as the perfect replacement for full-back Dani Alves who is considering a move away from the club this summer.
This comes after a report in the same newspaper which claimed that Alves is currently in talks with Manchester City over a potential free transfer.
The Sun claims that United manager Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the Italian defender but Darmian understands that he is unlikely to maintain a regular spot in the first-team next season, and he is reportedly keen on the move to Turin.
With Antonio Valencia producing such impressive performances in the right full-back role, the Italian spent the majority of last season playing on the left-hand side which is not his preferred position.
Darmian made a total of 29 appearances in all competitions last season which would have been a disappointment to the Italian as he featured in 39 matches during his debut campaign at Old Trafford.
The full-back was still trusted to feature in the big games and he played the full 90 minutes in the Europa League final against Ajax where United came away with a 2-0 victory.
Darmian’s current contract at Old Trafford expires in the summer of 2019.
