Everton are second favourites to sign Arsenal forward Lucas Perez, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have placed the Merseyside club at 6/1 to secure the signature of the 28-year-old in the summer transfer window.
This follows up from the report in the Scottish Sun which claimed that Everton were planning to make a move for Perez this summer as they are resigned to losing top marksman Romelu Lukaku.
The Toffees are currently ahead of a number of European clubs who are also interested in signing the Spaniard with La Liga side Deportivo placed at 8/1, Turkish club Fenerbahce at 10/1 and fellow Premier League side West Ham United at 20/1.
Ronald Koeman’s side are currently second favourites behind La Liga side Sevilla who are placed at 5/4 to land the forward this summer.
Perez signed for Arsenal from Spanish outfit Deportivo at the beginning of the 2016-17 campaign for a fee around £17million.
However, the move turned out to be a disaster for the forward as he spent the majority of the season watching on from the substitutes’ bench.
Perez only started two Premier League matches last season and he did not feature in a single game for the club in the last two months of the campaign.
The forward still managed to contribute when given opportunities to play as he scored eight goals and provided six assists in all competitions last season.
