Following Tuttosport’s report that Juventus rejected Chelsea’s £52 million offer for Alex Sandro, Chelsea will need to look elsewhere to strengthen their defence this summer.

The Italian media outlet revealed that Juventus wouldn’t sell their full-back for less that £62 million, and the 26-year-old is under contract at the club for a further three years.

The Brazilian was a key figure within the Serie A outfit last season, where the full-back provided three goals and a further seven assists during his 43 appearances for the club.

Throughout the Italian club’s 2016/17 campaign, Sandro showed his versatility by playing within a number of positions including left-back and left-midfield.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will want competition for Marcos Alonso, but it looks unlikely to be the Brazilian.

The Blues manager is yet to make any signings this summer but will want to strengthen his backline ahead of the 2017/18 campaign as the club aim to retain their Premier League title.
