London clubs Chelsea and Tottenham won’t reveal their summer signings until their new season kits have been released, according to The Sun.

The newspaper claim that the Premier League rivals will announce any signings after July 1 so that their new arrivals can be pictured with the latest 2017/18 jersey.

The two clubs were the main contenders for the Premier League title during the previous campaign, which resulted in Chelsea pipping Spurs to the post.

Reports earlier in the month claimed that Manchester City’s former goalkeeper Willy Caballero was Antonio Conte’s first signing and it was said that the club wouldn’t announce the 35-year-old’s deal until the beginning of July.

Despite both clubs being incredibly quiet on their potential signings, the Sun claim that Tottenham could potentially announce the arrival of Everton’s attacking midfielder Ross Barkley.

Spurs boss Pochettino will look to bolster his current squad throughout the transfer window in preparation for another tilt at the title and to launch a more successful Champions League campaign – Tottenham failed to get out of the Group Stage last season.

It is thought that both clubs will profit greatly from withholding the names of their signings as it is a great marketing strategy to lure fans to buy the strip with new names and numbers on the jerseys.
