Arsenal first-teamer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admits he would love to have French superstars Kylian Mbappe and Alexandre Lacazette playing alongside him next season.

The 23-year-old midfielder is set to go head-to-head with the attacking duo when England face France in an international friendly on Tuesday night, but Oxlade-Chamberlain hopes that he’ll be seeing them on a more regular occurrence.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for a new goalscorer this summer, and both names have regularly been affiliated with the north London club.

A report by the Daily Telegraph earlier this month claimed that Arsenal had seen a mega-money bid worth £87million rejected by Mbappe’s current employers, AS Monaco.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph also report that the Gunners will need to splash out at least £60million to land Lacazette, who has been in a rich vein of goalscoring form for Lyon.

With Arsenal’s summer transfer plan likely to rely heavily on one of the two goalscorers arriving at the Emirates, Oxlade-Chamberlain has delivered a glowing verdict of the club’s top attacking targets.

He told the Standard: “Anyone would want them in their team. First and foremost, Mbappe has been a phenomenal revelation this season at such a young age.

“It is hard not to watch him closely. He is scoring so many goals and every week, it’s in your face! I have been monitoring him and he is really a quality player.

“I feel the same about Lacazette. I have seen him for a good few years now and he is always scoring goals.”

Mbappe, 18, scored 26 goals and supplied 14 assists from 44 appearances in all competitions last season, including six goals from just nine matches in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, his 26-year-old Lyon counterpart netted an incredible 37 goals from 45 appearances in all competitions, as the French giants finished fourth in Ligue 1.

However, Arsenal will face heated competition to acquire both signatures, with several of Europe’s elite sides also in the race.
