Arsene Wenger will need to perform a drastic squad overhaul this summer if Arsenal are to contend for the title next season.
The Gunners had a dismal 2016/17 league campaign, which saw the club finish in fifth place in the top flight and resulted in the north London side missing out on a lucrative Champions League spot.
Wenger took the brunt of the club’s failings, however he shocked fans when he extended his managerial contract at the end of May for a further two years.
If the Frenchman is to remain at the club until 2019, some major changes will need to be made to the squad during the summer transfer window to show that the Gunners are serious contenders for silverware.
In order to do this, Wenger must be ruthless and offload some of his favourites from the current squad.
