Arsenal are confident that Hector Bellerin will stay at the club this summer, according to Sky Sports’ website.
It has been claimed in their transfer blog on Wednesday afternoon (13:56 pm) that the Gunners believe their 22-year-old defender will remain at the club despite “wild speculation” that Barcelona are looking to re-sign him.
Spain international Bellerin recently helped Arsene Wenger lift a record seventh FA Cup when they beat Chelsea at Wembley in May but his team missed out on a top-four spot following a poor Premier League campaign.
It is said that the highly-rated right-back remains an important member of the Arsenal squad despite rumours suggesting that Barca are in advanced talks to land his signature.
Bellerin recently concluded a mixed 2016/17 season for his side which saw him lift a trophy but also dropped from the starting XI in April.
The Arsenal academy product signed a long-term contract with the north London club last season, with his current deal set to expire in 2023.
The Barcelona-born player is known for his pace and his ability to attack the opposition from the right-back position.
If he were to move to Barcelona this summer then he would join a team that ended the La Liga season as runners-up to champions Real Madrid, who also went on to win the Champions League.
