Since bursting onto the scene by scoring two spectacular goals against Sunderland in 2013, Adnan Januzaj has found it tough to live up to the expectations that followed that match.

The 22-year-old Manchester United winger suffered relegation to the Championship whilst on loan with Sunderland during the recently concluded campaign.

Despite a lacklustre season where David Moyes’ side finished rock bottom of the table, Januzaj was arguably one of the brighter sparks in the team alongside the club’s main figure Jermain Defoe.

The Belgian now returns to Old Trafford where he will find it extremely difficult to break into a Jose Mourinho side that recently lifted the Europa League trophy added with their League Cup triumph in February.

There is no doubt that Januzaj still has the talent to perform on the big stage, he just needs a manager that can boost his confidence again.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez can bring the best out of the versatile attacker at St James’ Park if the Spaniard were to sign him up this summer.

Januzaj would be able to revive his career for a team that recently earned promotion to the Championship and is looking to add more threat to the final third.

He will not be under the pressures he faced at Old Trafford added with the fact that he would be playing for a side that will be underdogs for a lot of the games they play next season.

But, more importantly, Benitez would be able to get the best out of the technically gifted youngster, who can operate on either wing or through the middle.
