Five things learned from Christiansen press conference

|

1. Style of play

Christiansen revealed that he wants to see his new Leeds side play possession football, starting from deep and progressing through from his defenders.

“I try to dominate games, have control of it but if we need to play 4-4-2 we can do that as well,” he said. “I will adapt, but I want to keep control of the game build up from behind. We will see.”

The former Barcelona player has used 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 formations in the past, but it remains to be seen what system he will adopt at Leeds in order to keep possession and allow his side to dominate.

With Leeds playing 4-2-3-1 last season, Christiansen may find that the players are suited to a system with two holding midfielders.
