Josh Windass wants to play at the highest level possible if he were to leave Rangers, according to a report by HITC.

The website claims that recently relegated English Premier League side Hull City are considering a move for the 23-year-old attacker.

It is said Windass’ future is up in the air with Gers manager Pedro Caixinha reshaping his squad at Ibrox and Windass could be one of several players who could be heading for the exit door.

Hull-born Windass is the son of Tigers legend Dean Windass, who scored a memorable volley during the 2008 play-off final to help the Yorkshire club earn promotion to the top tier of English football.

The report states that Hull, who appointed Russian boss Leonid Slutsky to take over the reigns at the KCOM Stadium earlier on this month, are monitoring Windass’ situation ahead of the forthcoming Championship season.

Windass moved to Rangers during the summer of 2016 from League Two side Accrington Stanley after he scored 15 league goals for the Lancashire club.

However, upon his move to Glasgow, he struggled to earn regular game time under Mark Warburton and then Caixinha, who took charge of the club in March.

During his time at the club, Windass played 27 games in all competitions, finding the back of the net on only one occasion added with his five assists.

He has three years left on his current deal at Ibrox and he has only played for Accrington and Rangers during his career so far.
