Wolves complete Ofosu-Ayeh signing

Wolves have agreed to sign defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh from Eintracht Braunschweig, the club announced on Tuesday.

The Championship outfit confirmed on their official website that the 25-year-old will join the club on a free-transfer on July 1 when his contract with Bundesliga 2 outfit Braunschweig expires.

Ofosu-Ayeh has agreed to a three-year deal with the Midlands outfit and he has become manager Nuno Santo’s third signing of the summer.

Wolves have already captured the signature of Norwich defender Ryan Bennett and experienced centre-back Roderick Miranda, who made the move from Portuguese side Rio Ave.

All three have been brought in to help the club earn promotion next season after a disappointing campaign in 2016/17.

Wolves finished in the bottom half of the Championship table, with Walter Zenga first taking charge after Chinese conglomerate Fosun International had completed their takeover of the club in July 2016.

However, they sacked the Italian in November with Paul Lambert taking over the reigns, but he left the club last month and was subsequently replaced by Santo.

Right-back Ofosu-Ayeh will be playing in England for the first time in his career after plying his trade in Germany’s lower leagues.

He will be coming up against the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Norwich, Aston Villa and Leeds during the forthcoming campaign, with the fixture list set to be announced on Wednesday.
