Bayern Munich are willing to pay Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez up to £350,000-a-week in a bid to tempt him to join the club this summer, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper report on their website that the German giants would be open to making the Chile international their highest paid player in an attempt to ward off interest from the likes of Manchester City during the transfer window.

The potential wages would overshadow those of Poland striker Robert Lewandowski, who is currently on £300,000-a-week.

It also claims that the Munich based club have already held talks with the player’s agent and would be willing to pay Arsenal £40million for Sanchez, who is entering the final year of his contract in North London.

The Gunners are reluctant to let their star man depart after an excellent individual Premier League performance last season, scoring 24 goals in 38 appearances, and do not want to sell him to an English rival if he were to depart.

He has made 103 top flight appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side, while he is two games short of a century of appearances for Chile.

The Mirror claim that the club are willing to offer him more than £275,000-a-week to keep him at the Emirates Stadium, but can only offer him Europa League football after they missed out on qualification for the Champions League.
