Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman believes that Liverpool should try to sign Jamie Vardy in the summer.

The ex-Toffees man thinks that the Leicester striker would be a perfect addition to Jurgen Klopp’s side and is ready-made to fit his tactical system.

Many Liverpool fans believe that Klopp needs to try and sign a striker in the summer, especially with questions surrounding the future of Daniel Sturridge.

And Osman, 36, thinks that the striker that spearheaded Leicester’s miraculous Premier League winning campaign last year is the right man for the job.

“He [Klopp] does like them to be mobile,” he said on BBC 5 Live Sport on Monday night, as captured in a video on their official Twitter account. “I’m looking and trying to think who he could possibly go for.

“He likes them mobile, he likes them to be able to chase the ball down, but he’s missing a centre forward.

“I just think someone like Jamie Vardy might work for Liverpool because he will chase around like the way they press and he also wants to play on the shoulders.

“He makes clever runs.”

Vardy, 30, didn’t enjoy such a prolific season this year but still managed to find the net 16 times across all competitions for the Foxes as they defied the odds in the Champions League while battling to avoid relegation in the league.

He made 48 appearances in total but never really showed like he was about to slow up any time soon, meaning that Osman could really be on to something by saying he’d be the perfect fit for Klopp’s high tempo style of play

Vardy has 16 caps for England with six international goals to his name.

He has undergone a meteoric rise in recent years by going from non-league outfit Stocksbridge Park Steels to Premier League glory with Leicester via Halifax and Fleetwood.
