West Ham are interested in signing Juventus left-back Kwadwo Asamoah, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian news outlet also claims that Southampton are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old, who has been used as a bit-part player for Juventus this season.

The European giants are gearing up for the Champions League final next Saturday when they will face Real Madrid, but Asamoah has started just two of their games on the route to the showdown in Cardiff.

Juve have already secured the Serie A title and will finish of their league campaign against Bologna on Saturday.

However Asamoah, a 69-time Ghana international, has featured just 17 times in Italy’s top-flight this term and supplied two assists.

The ex-Udinese man has featured heavily at left-back this season – a position which West Ham are expected to try and strengthen over the summer – despite spending a lot of his career as a central midfielder.

Aaron Cresswell has struggled with issues surrounding injuries and his form while Calcio Mercato have reported previously that Inter Milan are interested in Arthur Masuaku and may offer the Hammers Italian international Eder in a potential swap deal.

Asamoah arrived at Juventus in 2012 and he has since helped them to every Serie A title in the last five seasons.

He has made a total of 129 appearances in all competitions for the Old Lady and scored five goals.
