Youri Tielemans’ agent saw Tottenham as a realistic move for the Anderlecht wonderkid, according to reliable journalist Kristof Terreur.

He reported on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Monaco were all preferred options of the 20-year-old’s representatives.

Terreur also claimed that a team from the Premier League had an offer rebuffed from Anderlecht for the dynamic playmaker, although it is unlikely to be Spurs.

“The Premier League was never a real option for Youri Tielemans. Anderlecht rejected an offer from an English mid-table club,” the reliable journalist said on Wednesday.

“His agent saw Dortmund, Atletico, Spurs and Monaco as realistic targets: able to pay £20million and ideal circumstances and playing concept to develop.”

Unluckily for Spurs, it is widely reported that Tielemans, in this case from Sky Sports, is heading to Ligue 1 champions Monaco and will undergo a medical later this week.

Tielemans has already posted what appears to be a goodbye video to his childhood club Anderlecht on his personal Twitter account.

The three-times Belgium international is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young midfielders in European football and has played a huge part in helping Anderlecht to the Belgian title this season.

He made 53 appearances in all competitions, scoring a staggering 18 goals and supplying 15 assists.

Tielemans has already been handed the captain’s armband for a number of times at the Brussels-based outfit, who are known for providing a plethora of top-quality talent to the game.

Terreur has previously been featured as an English-based Belgian journalist on Tottenham’s official club website in the past to preview their Europa League clash with Gent.
