Rangers are hoping to secure a double deal by signing Hearts duo Jamie Walker and Callum Paterson, according to the Express.

The newspaper has claimed that 23-year-old Walker has caught the eye of Gers manager Pedro Caixinha with his performances.

Wing wizard Walker has one-year left on his contract at Tynecastle and the report suggests that Caixinha is hoping to make is a double deal by also signing his teammate Paterson.

It is said that in order to land the top-flight pair it will take an offer in excess of £1million.

Paterson’s contract is due to expire at the end of this month as the 22-year-old right-back is still recovering from cruciate surgery.

The report also claims that English Championship duo Cardiff City and Ipswich Town are also keen on Paterson, who has five Scotland caps to his name.

Walker has arguably been the standout performer for Hearts this season, scoring 15 goals in all competitions, including 12 strikes in the Scottish Premiership.

Walker and Paterson are not the only players who could be heading to Ibrox this summer with the report naming six other top-flight players on Rangers’ wish list.

It is said that Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack is likely to sign upon the expiry of his contract, with Motherwell pair Ben Heneghan and Louis Moult other targets, alongside Partick defender Liam Lindsay, Dons midfielder Kenny McLean and Cagliari right-back Bruno Alves.

Rangers ended their disappointing season by finishing third in the Scottish Premiership, 39 points behind champions Celtic.
