Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to display their joy at the club signing Christian Atsu on a permanent deal from Chelsea.
The north-east giants confirmed the transfer on their official website on Wednesday morning.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at the Magpies and became a real fan favourite, making 32 Championship appearances, scoring five goals and supplying three assists.
The St James’ Park club have now completed the signing of the Ghanaian winger on a permanent deal and he has signed a four-year contract.
Despite signing for Chelsea back in the summer of 2013, Atsu never made a first team appearance for the club, instead spending time on loan at the likes of Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga.
He made five Premier League appearances for Everton in the 2014-15 season, can play on either wing, as well as in the ‘number 10′ role.
The 25-year-old has represented Ghana on 53 occasions and has scored 10 goals, and featured in all six of their matches at the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
