Everton are preparing a mega bid for Manchester City attacker Kelechi Iheanacho, according to a report.

The Sun claim that the Toffees are ready to launch a £20million move in the summer for the 20-year-old, who they view as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

It is understood that the Nigeria International is unsettled at the Etihad Stadium after growing frustrated at his lack of opportunities this season.

The report details that Ronald Koeman is aware of the striker’s situation and feels he could do a job at Goodison Park.

The Sun claim that Man City manager Pep Guardiola would like to loan Iheanacho out next season, but may need to raise funds for a £200million spending spree in the summer.

Everton may need to go into the market for a new forward as they face a £70million fight to keep hold of their prolific scorer Lukaku.

A £20million move for Iheanacho would represent a mega bid for the Merseyside club as their club-record deal is the £28million they paid Chelsea for Lukaku in 2014.

He has endured a frustrating season at the Etihad and made just 28 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals in return.

However, Iheanacho does have a strong record with City during his career and is still just 20.

The forward has made 63 senior appearances for them and scored 21 goals in return, which is particularly impressive considering he has had to make do with substitute appearances on a regular basis.
