Chris Sutton has stated “enough is enough” and that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger must leave the club in the summer.

The 67-year-old is coming to the end of his 21st season in charge of the Gunners and it has been a highly disappointing campaign.

The north London club have missed out on the Premier League’s top-four places for the first time under the Frenchman and will need to beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final to salvage anything this year.

Wenger has divided opinions among supporters for several years and there are a number of fans who believe his time at the Emirates Stadium should be up, while they also feel that owner  Stan Kroenke should also exit.

They have not won the league title since the undefeated 2003/04 campaign and there is a real belief that they are a now a long way short of their rivals, with title winners Chelsea finishing 18 points above them.

Sutton is convinced that Arsenal are falling way below the standards they should be at and feels that they must change manager Wenger to improve.

“Ever since I started playing football I have thought at the start of every season that Arsenal are going to contest for the title,” Sutton told Arsenal Fan TV. “I don’t see that with Arsenal at the moment which is why they need a different voice and a change.

“Arsene Wenger can’t go on for ever and change will have to come eventually. He has been a great manager, but enough is enough.”

Arsenal slumped to fifth-placed in the league table this season and it means they will be competing in the Europa League next year.

The supporters are concerned about whether star players such as Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will stay despite missing out on the Champions League.

Wenger’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season and he has explained that he will reveal his future following the cup final.
