Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic has revealed that his side’s thumping 5-1 victory over Rangers has been his best moment at the club so far.

The Bhoys recorded their biggest ever away win against Old Firm rival Rangers this season as they cruised to the three points on 29 April.

Brendan Rodgers’ side had five different goalscorers on the day as they played the Gers off the park in the league meeting.

Simunovic completed the 90 minutes during that clash and watched on as he remained fairly untested against Rangers.

However, he was involved in an eye catching moment when he produced a crunching tackle on opponent Kenny Miller that will go down on folklore with fans.

Simunovic was asked on Twitter by a supporter what his favourite Celtic moment was and was convinced that thrashing their bitter rivals was the best, as cited by the club’s official Twitter account.

Simunovic moved to Celtic Park in 2015 from Dinamo Zagreb and has become an important defender for the Scottish giants.

The powerful centre-back won the league title during his first season with the club and has emulated that this campaign.

He has become a mainstay in Brendan Rodgers’ starting line-up and made 30 appearances across all competitions, with a knee injury limiting his action at the beginning of the season.

The Croatian has built strong partnerships alongside teammates Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko during the season, but is viewed as many by the first-choice centre-back.
