Gus Poyet has admitted that he is worried Tottenham won’t be able to keep hold of their best players despite all the good work of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentinian boss has managed to build a formidable squad at White Hart Lane since his arrival in 2014 and has helped Spurs challenge at the top-end of the Premier League.

The north London club look set for a second-placed finish this year and will be back in the Champions League for another season, with Chelsea odds-on to win, but which betting site is the best one?

Spurs have revealed they will use Wembley as their home ground next year as White Hart Lane is demolished and their is a real belief that success is just around the corner.

However, ex-Spurs midfielder Poyet admits he is worried that his former side won’t be able to keep hold of their star players such as Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

“I think Mauricio Pochettino has done something very special,” Poyet said, as quoted by Sportskeeda. “I only hope for him and for the club that they can maintain and keep the best players.

“That is my only worry because it is one of the most difficult things for Spurs, to be able to hold the best players.”

Several of Spurs’ players have already been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane after their impressive performances in recent seasons.

The Daily Mirror claim that Manchester United are eyeing a move for versatile midfielder Eric Dier in a stunning £40million deal, while Manchester City have also been rumoured to be interested in defensive duo Kyle Walker and Danny Rose.

Pochettino has assembled a side that have competed for the title in the last two years as the club look to win their first ever Premier League crown.

Meanwhile, they struggled to compete in Europe and will be looking to bolster their squad in the summer to enhance their chances.
