Rangers fans have signalled on Twitter that they were impressed by the display of reported target Ryan Jack for Aberdeen against Celtic on Saturday.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a transfer to Ibrox this summer as manager Pedro Caixinha plans an overhaul of his squad.

The Sunday Post even reported last week that the Dons captain was set for a medical at the Glasgow giants.

However, manager Derek McInnes elected to start him in the Scottish Cup final encounter against Rangers’ fierce rivals Celtic on Saturday and he lasted 90 minutes out on the pitch before being brought off in stoppage time for Scott Wright.

Now, Jack was powerless to stopping his side from falling to a 2-1 defeat with goals from Stuart Armstrong and Tom Rogic ruling out a Jonathan Hayes strike.

However, much of the Rangers support on social media were pleased with what they saw from Jack and have urged the club to get his signing sealed.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Jack’s contract at Aberdeen is set to expire this summer and it now looks almost certain that he will be departing from the club after seven years at the Dons.
