Josh Windass completed 52 minutes in the 2-1 victory over Hearts on Saturday – and the Rangers fans were highly critical of his performance on Twitter.

The 23-year-old was taken off in the second-half during his side’s league win at home to Hearts, which made it two consecutive victories for Pedro Caixinha’s team.

The Gers were in front early through striker Joe Garner and were handed the incentive after Prince Buaben’s red card.

However, the visitors equalised in the second period courtesy of Esmael Goncalves’ goal and it took a Barrie MKay response to earn the three points.

Rangers fans were quick to highlight the display of attacking midfielder Windass and feel that he struggled to make a significant impact in the win.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Windass completed his move to Ibrox last summer and has struggled to make a name for himself during his first season.

The attacking midfielder, who is the son of ex-football Dean Windass, has now made 25 appearances across all competitions.

He has managed just one goal and four assists this campaign, a tally he will surely be disappointed with.

Windass made the move to Scotland a year ago after a brilliant season with Accrington Stanley in League Two, scoring 17 goals and supplying seven assists in 35 appearances.

However, he has struggled to make the desired impact and will hope to be in Caixinha’s plans for next season.
