Rio Ferdinand claims that Tottenham are a weaker side without defender Danny Rose, according to a report.

The 26-year-old is a regular feature in the Spurs starting line-up, but has missed a large part of the season due to a knee injury.

The England international has been out since January 31 when he picked up the injury setback against Sunderland, but has now returned to full training and will hope to make his comeback before the end of the season.

He still managed to be included in the PFA Team of the Year despite missing recent months and is one of Spurs’ most consistent performer.

Ferdinand included Rose in his own team of the year and believes that Spurs can’t reach the same levels without him.

β€œI think Tottenham without him (Rose) are not as good a team,” Ferdinand told his personal Youtube channel. β€œHe runs the whole left hand side on his own.”

Rose moved to White Hart Lane in 2007 and has developed into a top full-back during that time, with a string of loan spells helping him as a youngster.

The attack minded left-back is an important member of Mauricio Pochettino’s set-up and gives them great width.

He has managed two goals and supplied four assists during his 21 games so far this campaign.

Spurs are fortunate enough to have Wales international as Rose’s understudy and he has managed to slot well into the backline recently.
