West Ham are the second favourites to sign Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek, according to the latest bookmakers odds.

Sky Bet have priced the Hammers at 6/1 to land the 21-year-old midfielder in the summer transfer window.

The Hammers are currently ahead of all the newly promoted Premier League sides clubs who are also interested in signing the Chelsea starlet, with Brighton at 10/1, Newcastle at 12/1 and Huddersfield at 14/1.

Slaven Bilic’s side are the second favourites behind Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth who are currently 5/2 to acquire the services of Loftus-Cheek next season.

West Ham had to rely a lot on their captain Mark Noble this season and they often found themselves outrun in the midfield – especially when playing at home.

Loftus-Cheek has spent his entire footballing career at Stamford Bridge but he has not been given a consistent run of games in the first team since making his official senior debut for the club in 2014.

The Englishman was never trusted to start for Chelsea when former manager Jose Mourinho was in charge of the West London club. When the Portuguese was sacked in December 2015, interim boss Guus Hiddink put his faith in Loftus-Cheek and he played in 10 Premier League games before the end of the season.

The midfielder went on to repay the Dutch manager’s faith by scoring two goals in Chelsea’s FA Cup win over Scunthorpe and Premier League victory against Aston Villa.

Under new boss Antonio Conte, Loftus-Cheek did not make a single start in the Premier League this season in six apperances.
