Liverpool are “approaching” a deal for Roma winger Mohamed Salah, according to reliable journalist Ahmed Fouad.

The beIN Sports presenter posted a message on his personal Twitter account claiming “Salah is approaching Liverpool”.

This comes after the Daily Mail reported that the Reds were keen on signing the 24-year-old ace, who is a long-time target of the Merseysiders.

Leading bookmaker Sky Bet have priced the Egyptian international at 15/8 to make a switch to Anfield before September 3.

Salah has been in prime form for Roma this term, scoring 19 goals and supplying 15 assists in 41 league and cup games.

He signed for the Italian outfit in the summer of 2016 from Chelsea for £12million, and he has become a top performer for the club.

The Egyptian has been deployed by Luciano Spalletti in a number of roles this season, primarily as a right-winger, but he has featured on the left, as an attacking midfielder and as a second striker.

The 24-year-old endured a frustrating time at Stamford Bridge, and he only made 19 appearances in all competitions during a one-and-a-half season spell at the club.

Salah has been capped 52 times by Egypt, scoring 29 goals, and he played in all six games of their 2017 African Cup of Nations campaign.
