Tottenham are lining up a £30million bid for Wilfried Zaha this summer as his talks over a new contract at Crystal Palace stall, according to a reliable journalist.

Guardian Sport’s deputy news editor Ed Aarons revealed on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday night that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are “still interested” in signing Zaha after being strongly linked with him for nearly a year.

Spurs’ continued desire to sign the Ivory Coast international comes after Sam Allardyce’s shock resignation from Palace on Tuesday, just two days after the end of the Premier League season.

The Sun has claimed Zaha was set to put pen to paper on a five-year deal worth £110,000 a week, but Aarons has revealed that the 24-year-old is yet to sign a new contract.

Spurs are long-term admirers of former Manchester United winger Zaha, having had a move rejected to bring him to White Hart Lane rejected last summer.

The speed machine has been crucial in the Eagles’ campaign to avoid Premier League relegation under manager Sam Allardyce this season, forming a partnership with the likes of Jason Puncheon and Christian Benteke.

Having a hand in 18 goals this season, Zaha has found the back of the net against the likes of Chelsea, West Brom and Swansea as well as laying on 11 assists from out wide.

Palace’s number 11 still has a contract with the club until the summer of 2020, but with doubts surrounding the progress of his new deal, Spurs could be buoyed if they do decide to re-enter the market for Zaha.

Signing the five-time international would see Zaha come in direct competition with the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen in the final third.
