Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has jokingly urged Kyle Walker to force a move away from Tottenham.

The 26-year-old moved to Spurs from Sheffield United in 2009 and Wilder is under the impression that he could make a quick profit in any future transfer due to the possibility of a sell-on clause.

ESPN have reported that Manchester City are determined to sign the right-back and are ready to splash around £45million for his services – and any percentage of that would go a long way in helping a team like the Blades.

Wilder, 49, thinks that Hull’s Harry Maguire could also have a clause tied into his move away from Bramall Lane, who according to the Mirror, is also attracting plenty of attention.

When asked about the possibility of generating any income from potential sales of the ex-Blades contingent by BBC Radio Sheffield, Wilder said: “I would be very surprised if they didn’t [have clauses], I would suggest they had clauses.

“If Harry Maguire and Kyle [Walker] and Jamie Murphy want moves then get yourself off lads.”

Walker made 35 appearances in all competitions for Sheff United and played a big part in helping them reach the Championship play-off final in 2009 when they lost to Burnley.

He has since made a total 229 appearances for Tottenham but has been in Mauricio Pochettino’s naughty books as of late due to a lack of form and speculation surrounding his future.

In his absence, Kieran Trippier has more than stepped up to the mark and has recently been called up to the England national squad by Gareth Southgate.
