Tottenham have agreed a new five-year shirt sponsorship deal with insurance company AIA, the club have confirmed on their official website.

The London Evening Standard have reported that the eyecatching deal will be worth in excess of £80million.

It is said that the previous agreement with the Hong Kong-based insurance group was worth about £16million annually to Spurs and they have now secured an increase on that sum.

AIA have been Tottenham’s official shirt sponsor since the 2014-15 campaign and they have now extended that contract by five more years until 2022.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said: “The renewed partnership with AIA comes at a significant time in the club’s history, with a new world-class stadium currently under construction. We will look to further support the objectives of both organisations in the Asia-Pacific region.”

The north London club are currently on a post-season tour to Hong Kong and they will play a one-off friendly game against Kitchee on Friday.

Spurs named a strong squad which travelled out to Asia, with the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen all expected to participate.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side recently concluded the Premier League campaign where they finished as runners-up to champions Chelsea.

They also bid farewell to White Hart Lane, winning their final match at their old ground 2-1 against Manchester United with Kane scoring the winner.

Tottenham will now move into Wembley for the 2017/18 campaign, a stadium they used for this season’s Champions League and Europa League home matches.

Thereafter, they will move into their new 61,559 seater stadium for the start of the 2018/19 campaign and the London Evening Standard report that the project will cost £800million.
