Young Tottenham star Kaziah Sterling has told that he didn’t realise senior duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli were so popular during the team’s tour of Hong Kong.

The 18-year-old was part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad which travelled out for the end of season clash against Kitchee SC and he ended up coming off the bench in Spurs’ 4-1 win and even scored the final goal.

It was the first time bright prospect Sterling had been a part of the Tottenham first team after impressing the club’s coaching staff in the youth system.

But, off the pitch Sterling has also told that he didn’t realise Tottenham were so well supported in Hong Kong and that he was stunned by the fans reaction to the likes of Alli and Kane.

“It’s been great. I’d never been to Hong Kong before and I didn’t realise there was such a big Tottenham fanbase out here,” told Sterling to the official Tottenham website.

“Overall, I really enjoyed the trip. I’ve never signed so many autographs! Before this tour, I didn’t really have an autograph! I didn’t realise how popular we were out here, especially players like Harry Kane and Dele Alli, as soon as they came out the fans went wild for them. The fans were very welcoming, very enthusiastic and that was great to see.”

Sterling joined Tottenham in the summer of 2015 and he managed a return of 11 goals and three assists in 28 matches in the club’s youth ranks last season.

He will now be looking to make further progress in the first team in the next campaign and he will be hoping to feature in a competitive fixture for Pochettino’s side.

Meanwhile, the Spurs first team will be aiming for their first ever Premier League title after finishing in second place last season.
