Danny Higginbotham has named his Tottenham and Arsenal combined XI, but could not find room for powerhouse midfielder Victor Wanyama.

The Sky Sports pundit named in his Sun column 10 Spurs players in his side and picked Alexis Sanchez as the sole Arsenal representative,

He has examined the gulf of class between the two north London rivals this season with Mauricio Pochettino’s side finishing higher in the Premier League and that is evident in his combined XI.

Higginbotham decided to go with a complete Spurs backline with Hugo Lloris in goal, plus Danny Rose and Kyle Walker in the full-back areas.

Belgian pairing Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are the centre-back combination, while Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele get the nod of Wanyama in midfield.

That left an attacking quartet of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Sanchez and Harry Kane.

Some Spurs fans may be baffled at Wanyama’s omission from the side as he has made a huge impact at White Hart Lane since his arrival.

Wanyama moved to Spurs last summer and has become an instant success under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Kenya international appears to be the first-choice option in the central midfield area, with Dier and Dembele alternating beside him.

He is recognised as a defensive midfielder and he is responsible for protecting the back four.

Wanyama has also chipped in with three goals this season, including a stunning header on Sunday as Spurs said farewell to White Hart Lane with a 2-1 victory.
